Mahānārayaņa Upanishad gives several mantrās in the form of gāyatri for invoking gods and goddesses like Gaņapati, Rudra, Vişhņu, Krişhņa, Durga. We give here a few of them.

 

Gaņapati

tat puruşhāya vidmahe vakratundāya dhīmahi, tanno dantin prachodayāt

May we know the Supreme Person. We meditate upon Vakratunda. May he (dantin) activate us.

one with the tusks.

 

Rudra

tat puruşhāya vidmahe mahādevāya dhīmahi tan no rudraĥ prachodayāt.

May we know the Supreme Person. We meditate upon the Great Lord, Mahādeva. May be, Rudra, activate us.

 

Vishnu

nārāyaņāya vidmahe vāsudevāya dhīmahi, tan no vişhņuĥ prachodayāt.

May we know Nārāyaņa. We meditate upon Vāsudeva. May he, Vişhņu, activate us.
