Riks in a supreme ether, imperishable and immutable
In which all the gods are seated; One who knows not That
What shall he do with the Rik?
The
origin of the Riks, the invocatory Mantras of the Veda, is not in
the human mind. Their source is in the higher Ether of the
supernal regions – the vast self-extension of the Immortal and
Immutable Brahman. There too is the abode of the great Gods, the
powers that preside over the Cosmos. Unless one knows and is in
tune with this their fount, one can hardly hope to understand the
content of the Riks.
